Exhibition of drawings and illustrations by Almeida Coquet published in the press: weekly "Sporting", monthly "Caça e Sports", weekly "Sport. Cinema. Teatro".
Eduardo Alberto Almeida Coquet (1894-1980?): Sportsman, journalist, illustrator, caricaturist. Sportsman. He participated in the 1st Hall of Humorists and Modernists, in Porto, in May 1915. He collaborated, as an illustrator and journalist, in several newspapers and sports magazines in Porto, namely:
- In the weekly “Sporting” (1921-?), as editor of the section ‘Sports Atléticos’, and occasionally publishing a cartoon. In nº 1 of 25-03-1921, Almeida Coquet is presented as 'Member of the Olympic Committee of Porto and technical organizer of the selection tests'.
- In the monthly “Caça e Sports” (1922-1923). All illustrations – covers, cartoons, technical drawings, and advertising – were in charge of Almeida Coquet.
- In the weekly “Sport. Movie theater. Theater” (1927-1928). The first page of number 1 of January 1, 1927 opens with a sports cartoon by Almeida Coquet, who also signed the article ‘Education’, dedicated to promoting sport.
