In this small exhibition there are books on cavalry from the 17th century to horseback riding books of the 21st century, where the evolution of this type of editions over the centuries can be seen.
Historically, chivalry is linked to the combat of knights on horseback, horseback riding as the art of riding a horse and equestrianism as a horse sport (racing or polo).
Until the 20th century, the horse was linked to military activities, to those who needed it for their work and to the richiest, who used it for sport. Today, the sport on horseback is still associated with hunting and polo, and its role in modern warfare does not exist, being recognized in high-level shows, whose most popular event is jumping.
Equestrian art continues to be a symbol of prestige, but the opening of new equestrian centers has made this art more accessible to a growing fringe of the population.
