JAMOR NATIONAL STADIUM TUNNEL
A series of moving images invite you to go through the access tunnel to the National Stadium lawn, which can now be visited. Until you reach the green “stage” of this emblematic building, you can learn about its history in the exhibition «National Stadium: from Dream to Fulfillment», which can be found on the left side wall. It portrays the origins of the Estádio Nacional, starting with the emergence of the idea in the sports context and in the press in the 1930s and the request for a stadium by the associative movement to Salazar. It also covers the choice of the location in the Jamor valley, the competition and the preliminary projects, the construction, the intervention of Francisco Caldeira Cabral and Miguel Jacobetty, until the inauguration of the Stadium in 1944.
